EVP and Phone Calls from the Dead

Dr. S. Rorke join the CPRI team in a consultant capacity in the fall of 2004. His main thrust is EVP research and Cognitive Enhancement via Novel Technologies of Brain Entrainment and Induced States of Consciousness Conducive to Learning & Socio-Cognitive Development.

Dr. S.Rorke has experience as a Professor of Physics for Loyola College, has a BA in Communications Theory, has earned a Master of Science degree, is a PhD and is currently pursuing a post-doctorate research EdD degree in the cognitive sciences. His EdD research has brought him to consult with Jim Hale and CPRI on technical matters related to Cognitive Enhancement via Novel Technologies of Brain Entrainment and Induced States of Consciousness Conducive to Learning & Socio-Cognitive Development, and to pursue a personal interest in EVP (a strangely related field of research, by way of M.A.Persinger).

REAL LIFE PHONE CALLS FROM THE DEAD:
Ever since my article on "Phone Calls From the Dead" was first posted to the website, we've received a steady flow of e-mails from people telling about their own experiences with these so-called "Phantom Phone Calls". Most say that they never heard of this happening to anyone else and they thought they were the only ones to have ever experienced anything like it.

Meanwhile, I'm becoming more and more convinced that "Phone Calls From The Dead" are actually among the most commonplace and widespread occurrences in the entire field of "paranormal" phenomena. People who experience it don't generally talk about it with others, and it gets little or no publicity from the usual media sources. Even so, it seems that PCFTD can happen to anyone, anytime, anyplace.

Because of its random nature, it's difficult, if not impossible to research this phenomenon other than through anecdotal reports. Still, the sheer number of these reports, and the extraordinary impact that such phone calls often have upon those who receive them, should encourage us to be more open to studying and openly discussing "Phone Calls From The Dead".
