For the last six months, her ten year old son, Jason, has been awakened nightly by noises in the house. Jason claims, in the early morning hours of the night, to hear breathing outside his bedroom door, and the shuffling noise of his mother's slippers moving down the hallway, although these occurrences have happened after his mother has gone to sleep herself. His room is located relatively near the garage (one story above), and, during the night, he claims to have been awakened by car doors opening and closing as well as the door leading from the house into the garage. These experiences happened every night and were such that the child was exhausted at school due to lack of sleep. The noises have only recently stopped bothering the child since his mother has given him her Ipod. Jason sleeps with the Ipod's earbuds in his ears to drown out the sounds, and has been sleeping soundly for about the last two or three weeks. This also leads the mother to believe that the sounds are audible, not just her son's imagination. On an aside, Teresa, herself, has had some unusual experiences herself. Coincidentally, at the age of ten she also started hearing what she believes to have been a boy speaking to her. Although she has not had a visual, she distinctly heard a boy saying, "Mommy." This has happened several times throughout her life, and has happened last Spring in her current residence. She claims that the voice is audible, clear and distinct, and she heard it twice: once in the upstairs hall and once in the kitchen. She feels that "whatever" it is has followed her throughout her life. Her husband has not had any of these experiences and is having trouble believing in them. A neighbor, two doors down, has a son who has also claimed to have seen a "Farmer" and a "barn" on these properties, and, although there is a farm a ways behind these homes, there are no actual farm structures on their properties. (Though it is recorded that these current homes, built in the last few years, DO reside on what was once a farm.) Teresa says that they do watch Ghost Hunters, but that she does monitor what Jason watches. They do not know if their son is experiencing unusual phenomena or just an overactive imagination. She has only recently spoken to her son about her own experiences AFTER he came to his parents with what he was hearing at night. When speaking to her, she seems clear and rational, and, even when asking the same question a different way, she gives me the same story, without any pause.
